Finding love in many relationships not just one

Relationships ‘s most disappointing and disheartening not to be able to find love … in the people you have known all your life: your family, your siblings, your friends.

Being Single, can make us so single-minded in our search for love, that we forget to appreciate the existing people in our lives. This is not to say that one is a substitute for the other. Its just that while one is pending, why not celebrate the other?

Being overly consumed by only one source of love, that which comes from being in a relationship can blind us to the love of those that have always been there for us. Why is it that the love of people around us, family or friends, is not enough to fulfil us?

More importantly, why do we not spend more time in making efforts to strengthen existing relationships, instead of chasing potential new ones?

If you are Single, and find yourself frustrated or disheartened with the prospect of finding a partner, why not temporarily shift your focus to the people who do bring joy to your life. Think of simple or creative ways, that would help you connect or reconnect, with them. Take an evening stroll (with your mum or dad), take a class (with your friends), watch a movie (with your siblings/nieces/nephews), these activities aren’t exclusive to dates alone.

You are surrounded by people that love you. You just need to recognise and appreciate them. After all, being loved, wanted, supported and cared for, is one of the most basic human needs.

So, instead of checking off the days waiting for that special someone to appear, fill the time up with the people who have already proved to be beyond special, time and again.

Now go ahead. Make that first move.

To good health & great relationships.
